Is that a Photo?
When it comes to Photoshop I love bringing in photos and sketches into my computer. I love practicing new and different techniques to challenge myself. I look at each project as a new challenge and how I can accomplish my look and style. Continuing my practices and bettering myself in each program to be a well rounded designer for not only myself but, in the industry as well.
Typography is food for the soul
Typography is very important when designing for projects like posters, magazine ads, and annual reports. Anyone can make a picture look pretty, but not everyone can "create type." When I say create type, I don't mean make your own font. Take the text and make it part of the design. Don't just stick it on the poster or ad and call it good. Give type character and it will bring more life to your work.
Traditional into Digital
I started out with just traditional art before attending college. Now that I am two years into college computer illustration is all I do! It's not your typical illustration; photo manipulation and photo editing are where I focus the most. Incorporating those elements into my design make for a better overall quality piece, whether it be for an ad or a cd cover.
"Alright, stand like this..look this way...and.."
Photography is a recent skill I started to take interest in. I started by taking pictures of my sister and friend's brother for their senior year. I also like taking pictures of landscape. Learning techniques and different ways to take photographs and also work in type if needed is super important.
