A Little About Me

Who Am I?

My name is Erin Herrmann and I am a current student at Creative Center College of Art & Design. Currently, I am a student at Creative Center College of Art and Design. I am expecting to receive an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Graphic Design in May this year, and I am working on a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree that will be completed in May 2019.

If I had to describe myself simply, I would say I'm observant, friendly and a quick learner. For much of my life, I've enjoyed art and learning different styles/techniques. I plan to better my current skill set, and put my knowledge to good use in the economy.

Awards Through the Years

Through highschool, I have obtained many awards on my traditional art including 2nd place, honorable mention, and best of show. Additionally, college has brought me more awards including, Academic Achievement, Attendance Achievement, Outstanding Progress, Director's Award and so forth. Also, I have placed bronze at AIGA Nebraska Show 2017.

Web Design

Web design is very interesting to me. Working with computers and learning new design techniques is something I've learned to appreciate and enjoy. I am experienced with many computer programs including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Brackets and more. Learning new tactics on computer programs can be difficult but fun for me.

Creating websites has been difficult, but it's also been a great learning experience. In this age of technology, it is important for a graphic designer to know the fundamentals of web design. That's one of the reasons that I want to learn more about web design.

I love traditional and digital media. I plan to work with mostly with computers since it's what I enjoy, but I also enjoy crafting and hands-on activities. Painting has a special place in my heart. More so, I like to make origami in my free time. Crafting little butterflies and flowers is my favorite hobby.

I hope to not only work with tecnology, but also work traditionally; not only because I enjoy making traditional art, but I feel it's important to spread yourself in more than one focus. Technology may be the top dog in today's society, but it's important to remember the roots of art and to keep its history alive.
