Business of Graphic Design and Advertising 201

This course is a look at the business side of the visual communication world. Topics will include: résumés and job interviews, personal presentation, tips on searching for a job, and understanding what an employer is looking for. Additional subjects will include understanding the difference between an advertising agency and an art studio, ethical guidelines, compensation, and how an art business operates. Common problems and solutions will be addressed as well as budgeting and scheduling.

Course Objective:

This course gives the student a perspective of what an owner/operator experiences in everyday business.

Performance Objective:

At the completion of this course, students will be able to present themselves with confidence and have an understanding of the world of commercial art.
